Vito Marcantonio (1902-1954) was a New York City politician who served three terms in the US House of Representatives. Marcantonio died suddenly of a heart attack in 1954, leading to the creation of the Vito Marcantonio Memorial Fund.
This collection contains materials generated by the Vito Marcantonio Memorial Fund for the book, I Vote My Conscience, edited by Annette Rubinstein, and a 1956 exhibit at the Hotel Vanderbilt memorializing Marcantonio’s life. The collection contains Marcantonio’s writings and pamphlets, photographs depicting Marcantonio, and other materials generated in preparation for the launch of the book.
